Howard Schickler Fine Art was founded in 1975. Originally specializing in 19th and 20th century photography, the gallery has expanded to include paintings, drawings and rare books. The gallery's web site was launched in 1996 and includes many exhibitions that have either been exhibited in our gallery or exclusively produced for the web.
The Gallery Represents Two Collecting Areas:
- European avant-garde art, photography and rare books.
- 19th & 20th century astronomy and space photography.
In October 2000 we moved the gallery from New York's SoHo across the East River to the waterfront area called D.U.M.B.O. in Brooklyn, directly underneath the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges, adjacent to the landmark restaurant River Café. D.U.M.B.O. is an emerging artist's area whose warehouses date back to the American Civil War.
